The mission of Art Works for All, formerly VSA Delaware, is to enhance the capabilities, confidence and quality of life for children and adults with disabilities by providing educational opportunities in the arts.

Cab Calloway School Fund’s mission is to support innovative programming, fund state-of-the-art technology, incubate and launch new initiatives, and provide outreach and scholarships to underserved community members through their SMArtSummer camp.
The Fund seeks to further enrich Cab students and the community at large by supplementing the costs of an arts-based educational experience and striving to reach an unparalleled level of excellence.

Carasmark mission is to inspire hope in the lives of children and their families by meeting their practical needs.

Caring Hearts Helping Hands mission is to provide assistance to financially-struggling working families in Kent County, DE by supplying holiday gifts (clothes and toys), back to school needs (book bags packed with age appropriate supplies), shoe certificates, as well as new and gently used clothing and household items as needed throughout the year.

CHILD, Inc.’s mission is to be the leading advocate for Delaware’s children. They provide creative prevention and treatment programs that meet the changing needs of families. They serve dependent, neglected and abused children and their parents. They provide programs for those involved in domestic violence situations, especially children. By protecting the victims and treating those responsible for acts of domestic violence they help children heal.

Delaware Aerospace Education Foundation’s mission is to inspire and educate the people of the Delaware Valley in learning about Science, Space, Technology, Engineering, Earth’s environment and Mathematics through the use of their academies, presentations, symposiums, professional development, events and activities and the resources of the Environmental Outpost.

The Delaware Center for Horticulture mission is to inspires individuals and communities through the power of plants. Due to much of their work occurring in low income neighborhoods with higher rates of disease, environmental contamination, and poor access to healthy foods, their educational efforts also emphasize the personal health and sustainability benefits of gardening.

The mission of the Delaware Children’s Museum is to Develop Creative Minds powered by STREAM and Playful Learning.

The Delaware Children’s Theatre mission is to enrich Children’s cultural life, to help young talent find its way to the stage, to continue a tradition of affordable quality theatre, to entertain families with exceptional theatrical experiences, and to preserve their Historic Theatre House for generations to come.

The Delaware Contemporary is an art space that infuses contemporary art and creativity into the community through compelling exhibitions, dynamic educational experiences, and access to the artistic process.
The Delaware Contemporary presents exhibitions of regionally, nationally, and internationally recognized artists that explore topical issues in contemporary art and society. In addition, they provide opportunities for local and emerging artists to showcase their work and advance their artistic growth. Art sales through their galleries and Museum Shop support area and exhibiting artists and their commitment to the importance of contemporary art in the community.

Delaware Futures mission is to provide academic, social and motivational support and cultural enrichment that empowers economically disadvantaged high school students to recognize and fulfill their unrealized potential and become matriculated college students.

Delaware Hospice offers two children’s programs:
The Katybug Program’s mission is to help kids facing a serious illness live life to the fullest and offer support to their families as they cope with difficult times. They help children find relief from pain and symptoms while they ease their parents’ worries and practical concerns, improving the quality of life for the entire family.
Children who have experienced the death of a loved one have a different set of needs from adults. New Hope was designed for children who are coping with an expected or unexpected loss. Through New Hope, they help children process and grow with their grief—to find new hope.


The purpose of the Brandywine Zoo and the Delaware Zoological Society, Inc. is to professionally exhibit specific species of animals and provide a comprehensive program of conservation, education and recreation to the citizens of the State of Delaware and the Brandywine Valley.

EDGE for Tomorrow Mission and Vision Statements is to improve the lives in Edgemoor and surrounding communities in one generation through caring and trusting relationships. They envision a vital community of families who help each other as they have been helped.

The mission of the Friends of Auburn Heights is to educate the public firsthand about an American way of life that flourished at the dawn of the automotive age, preserve the technology of historic steam transportation, and serve as advocate for Auburn Valley State Park.

The Girl Scouts of Chesapeake’s mission is to ensure local Girl Scouts gain the skills and confidence needed to accept challenges, overcome obstacles, and become leaders.

El Centro Latino’s mission is to address the immediate needs of members of their community as they adapted to life in a new country, and in most cases, to a new language.

The Newark Area Welfare Committee, Inc.’s mission is to be a trusted resource that establishes and supports diverse programs to provide the services for their neighbors that are in need. They offer several programs to assist their clients. These include the Food Cupboard, Emergency Assistance, Shoe Program, and Holiday Food Boxes.

PAWS (Pet-Assisted Visitation Volunteer Services) for People is a nonprofit organization who’s mission is to improve the lives of people in their community by lovingly providing individualized, therapeutic visits with their specially trained volunteers and their certified gentle, affectionate pets.

The Pilot School’s mission is to cultivate the abilities of students who learn differently by providing the strategic tools, guidance, and structure needed to confidently learn and achieve. Their students develop the curiosity, motivation, and resourcefulness necessary to flourish in many environments and pursuits.

Prevent Child Abuse Delaware’s mission is to provide resources and training to make certain that every child in Delaware has a safe and nurturing childhood, free from abuse and neglect.

Rodney Street Tennis and Tutoring Association’s mission is to foster a lifelong love of tennis and learning.

SmartDrive and their funders believe that providing knowledge is vital to the health and safety of all Teen Drivers. That is why they have removed the cost barrier to improving the skills and awareness behind the wheel and as a motor vehicle passenger.
Their program is approved by the Delaware Department of Insurance and certified by the Delaware Division of Motor Vehicles as a Motor Vehicle Accident Prevention Program (BASIC) Defensive Driving course.

St. Michael’s School and Nursery, Inc’s. mission is to build strong foundations for all children in the first five years of life and to support families as their educational journey begins. They foster a safe, nurturing, inclusive environment and seek the highest standards in their practice, curriculum, and professionals.
They are committed to the community they serve and believe a sense of community is a core strength for children, families, and educators.

STEHM is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), non-denominational organization whose mission is two-fold: at the Martha Houses I and II, to provide long-term transitional housing fostering the goal of independent living through counseling and life skills training in a safe, supportive environment for women and women with children; and through their Motel Ministry, to provide short-term emergency housing for needy or displaced persons.

The mission of Tennis Rocks Tutoring and Music is to provide an opportunity for underserved youth and families in Wilmington to fulfill their maximum potential academically, socially, and physically. They use tutoring and music to address educational needs, and tennis to develop physical fitness, healthy lifestyles, and essential life skills. Tennis Rocks is a safe haven for their families. These activities are an effort to achieve the larger goal of reducing the high school dropout rate of minority students in the city of Wilmington.

United Cerebral Palsy of Delaware has been honored to work with individuals with all types of disabilities and their
families, providing many needed services and supports. Through the years they have served thousands of
wonderful clients through their many programs and services.

Wilmington’s Head Start mission is to equip children to be prepared for kindergarten and become successful students. They accomplish this through evidence based curriculum and the provision of supportive services to ensure their education, health, nutrition and social services needs.
Their focus is to support and engage the whole family. They provide opportunities for both parents to be active and valuable participants in their child’s experience at Wilmington Head Start.

YWCA’s mission is to eliminate racism, empower women and promote peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.
YWCA Delaware is the leading organization for social change and is widely recognized as the highly effective, inclusive and uplifting force that empowers women to achieve their full social and economic potential.
